UPDATE: On July 1, 2022, Friends of the Pygmies, represented by Nadia Lekeumo, signed a contract for one drilled well at a cost of US $5500 or 3.5m XOF. Although the contract is not to be shared publicly, our donors may see it here (it is in French). Within a month or so, our Pygmy brothers and sisters should have clean water to drink! In order to get the Cameroonian government's stamp of approval for Friends of the Pygmies (FP) to operate legally as an NGO, it isn't enough for us to simply submit the charter as we've done, but they require $16k in the FP bank account as a show of credibility. It makes some sense, because if we are bringing folks down then we need to have the cash for emergency medical problems.
