Note: Before we are permitted to bring visitors into Cameroon for ceremonies, we need to have Friends of the Pygmies NGO legalized by the government. To do that requires having $16k in the NGO bank account to ensure that we can take sick visitors to a hospital and pay for medical care. If you'd like to help us, you can donate $260 now for FREE. For details: Contact Us.

Ceremony Details:

Cost: While we cannot in good conscience charge for a ceremony, as that violates tradition, we do have costs associated with bringing you to and fro safely, and we are raising funds to help our Pygmy brothers and sisters with their water supply and land rights. Thus we ask for a minimum suggested donation, currently pegged at $2000, for these purposes only. Group discounts apply.

If you are interested in just cultural exchange, let us know what type and duration so we can discuss an appropriate plan.

You must inform us of any special dietary requirements or other special needs so that we can determine if those can be met. Any medical issues (physical or mental) or dependencies should be communicated. Before taking a flood dose of iboga you should obtain a clear bill of health from your doctor with regard to liver, kidney, and heart function (especially QT interval should not be prolonged in EKG). The Pygmies are very far from electricity, medical centers, stores, and so forth.

You can find rules for entering Cameroon at: www.ivisa.com/cameroon-visa
The visa rules make it seem nearly impossible for some nationalities like Americans, but in truth, you can simply pay $300 or so to get a visa in this case if you know the right people -- just ask us for a referral.

Draft itinerary outline for ceremony:

Day 1: Travel from airport to the forest via the long mud road to meet the Pygmies. Assuming no difficulties with travel, this could be done in one day.

Day 2: Ancestor welcoming ritual: manifesting, learning, sharing.

Days 3-5: Iboga ceremony at a slow and safe pace to avoid medical issues.

Day 6-8: During the recovery period, participants will have the opportunity to learn about life in the forest and Pygmy traditions, as a kind of gentle rebirthing into nature.

Day 9: Travel back to the airport via the long mud road.

Cancellations two weeks or more before a ceremony are eligible for a 90% refund. Beyond that timeframe we can only refund 50% in case of cancellation.
